Abortion Pills
Pharmacological abortion, i.e., termination of pregnancy using pills, is a commonly used method worldwide. It involves inducing miscarriage using mifepristone and/or misoprostol. The same method and medication are used by medical professionals (in Germany, among other countries). This medication is often dispensed for self-use at home.

WHO position
The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, medical abortion can be safely performed independently
(e.g. at home), using a combination of mifepristone and misoprostol tablets or misoprostol alone.
This is the most common method used by people with unwanted pregnancies.
